The Filmmakers

The Director

Cory Kelley is an Emmy Nominated director with a love of mountains and a passion for storytelling.  Since leaving his job as Associate Creative Director at an advertising agency in Seattle, he has taken on documentary filmmaking full time.  In recent years, Cory has spent time climbing in the North Cascades and has developed an appreciation for the rugged peaks and icy glaciers. This documentary has been his primary focus since first stumbling onto Mauri’s glacier research. He hopes it will mark a change in his career and signal the move from commercial work to telling stories he feels compelled to tell. The Producer

Chris Edmonds is a Seattle local that spends an inordinate amount of time in the Cascades year-round. He works as a Producer at an advertising agency in order to support his hiking / backpacking / mountaineering / snowboarding habit. He joins our team with an enthusiasm for art and media coupled with an infatuation with the beauty of the Cascades.

The Director of Photography

As a designer, photographer, musician, and mountaineer, Max McSimov wears a lot of hats, literal and figurative. He seeks adventure and loves life… on a glacier, a piano, or a dusty bar-stool. Prior to moving out west, Max studied film and photography in both Chicago and NYC. In the hustle of the 9-5 world, he spends his days making ads and taking names. He believes that conservation is everyone’s responsibility. All to often stuck watching congressmen slap and tickle each other in comfy chairs, Max is overjoyed to now stand and help document the beauty of the North Cascade glaciers while they are still intact.

The Climbing Photographer

Steph Abegg is from Seattle. When not working on her PhD in earthquake engineering at the University of Washington, she spends her time climbing and exploring the North Cascades. Her camera always comes along to document her adventures and the unique glaciated beauty that surround them. The Rocket Scientist Photographer

A Seattle native, Denny Trimble grew up mountain biking, and only recently discovered backpacking and climbing.  He spends almost every weekend in the mountains, chasing good weather and getting to high places.  When he can’t be outside, he toils away in the belly of a secretive local spaceship factory.  He enjoys setting up time lapse photos in the mountains at night, when long exposures and moonlight can compress time and gather light for hours.

The Camp Mom

A native of Wyoming, Christina Crane grew up roaming the mountains and plains of the West. She’s been lucky to travel often and find “work” guiding teens in the Way of the Outdoors, teaching environmental education and yoga. This camp mama may be technologically and photographically challenged, but she can schlep like a Nepali porter and cook a mean bowl of gado-gado spaghetti.
